Phangnon Konyak is an Indian politician from Nagaland. She is also the first woman to be elected to Rajya Sabha from Nagaland (April 2022) and the second woman from the state to be elected to either house of the Parliament or the state assembly. She is the State President of BJP Mahila Morcha, Nagaland.

The Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway in association with the state’s transport department dispatched the first goods trains carrying food grains and essential commodities to Khongsang railway station at Manipur from Guwahati. The first direct passenger train service namely ‘Jan Shatabdi Express’ was earlier inaugurated between Tripura’s Agartala and Khongsang.

The Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2023, was introduced in the Lok Sabha, to amend IIM Act of 2017. The amendment declares the 20 IIMs across the country as ‘institutions of national importance’. The bill introduced in Lok Sabha by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, proposes to appoint the President of India as the ‘Visitor’ to all the IIMs.

Micron reaffirmed its commitment to establish India’s first semiconductor plant in Gujarat, creating 5,000 direct jobs and addressing demand from domestic and international markets.

The project entails a total investment of USD 2.75 billion. The first Made in India’ chip should be ready by December 2024.

SpaceX is preparing to launch the world’s largest privately-owned satellite, called JUPITER-3. This impressive satellite will be sent into space aboard SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A in Florida.

This launch will be the seventh for the robust triple-booster rocket.

Recently, the University Grants Commission (UGC) approved the Guidelines for Institutional Development Plan (IDP) for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). These guidelines are intended to assist HEIs in attaining academic and research excellence while enhancing the quality of teaching and learning. IDP will offer direction to HEIs in exercising academic, administrative, financial, and business autonomy, while maintaining accountability.
