Union Road and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for 13 highway projects in Manipur through video conferencing. He also inaugurated a road safety project in the north-eastern state through a video conference. These projects involve a road length of 316 km, and include four laning of Imphal-Moreh section of NH-39, widening to two lane with hard shoulder of Churachandpur to Tuivai section of NH 102B, among others.

Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland launched the Yellow Chain, a single window e-commerce platform developed to promote local business and entrepreneurship in the State. With the help of this new platform the seller or service providers, or an individual or a group will be able to register themselves and to upload the data and information about their particular products and services which would be accessed by customers while purchasing.

Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched the Tribal Health and Nutrition Portal “Swasthya” and e-newsletter on health and nutrition “ALEKH”. The ministry has also announced the opening of National Overseas Portal and National Tribal Fellowship Portal.

The e-portal on Tribal health and nutrition named ‘Swasthya’ will offer health and nutrition related information of the tribal population of India on a single platform and will also curate innovative practices, research briefs, case studies, and best practices collected from different parts of India to facilitate the exchange of evidence, expertise and experiences.

To provide connectivity to various parts of the country specially in the remote areas the Indian Railways’ North East Frontier Railway zone has constructed the world’s tallest pier bridge in the North-Eastern state of Manipur. The bridge is a part of Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal new BG line project.

Under this initiative, Google has sent out numerous public alerts to people in flood-impacted regions of India. These alerts provide updates and critical information to inform the users on their safety and the safety of their family and friends.

The initiative enables the users with Android Smartphones with location service to receive the alerts and notification on the real-time water level measurements. It also allows the users to enter queries on flood-affected areas and access information on the current situations of the region.

‘DEEKSHAK is a low bandwidth web-based software that can be accessed using any computer or even on mobile phones. It is a single session platform where the teacher will concentrate on the teaching material. Teachers can share documents with the students through the platform and even update notes on the documents in real-time.

Students can enter their queries in the live chat box, which the teacher will be able to view real-time. Students will also have access to a doubt box where they can click to “raise their hand” and wait for the teacher to address them.
