This newspaper will help to promote creative thinking among children and inculcate in them the habit to read and write. This weekly newspaper will include content that will help engage children in activities such as games, puzzles, riddles, fun facts and news, vocabulary, science and maths experiments. It will also provide kids with a platform to get their arts and write-ups published and win prizes by participating in monthly contests.

Assam paired with Rajasthan under Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat. Both the states are known for sports, tourism, foods, culture and heritage.

The objective of Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat is to promote the spirit of national integration through a deep and structured engagement between all Indian States and Union Territories through a year-long planned engagement between States.

Bhupen Hazarika Samanway Award instituted by the Bhupen Hazarika Cultural Trust was today conferred on Nrityacharya Jatin Goswami for his valuable contributions in the cultural field of Assam. The award carrying a memento, a citation, a cheleng chador, gamosa, baan kanhi (bell-metal dish), a bouquet and a collection of books was given to the Sattriya exponent by trust members.

The report on ”Household Social Consumption: Education in India as part of 75th round of National Sample Survey – from July 2017 to June 2018” has positioned Assam in the fifth rank with a literacy rate of 85.9 percent in India.

Kerala with 96.2 per cent literacy, has once again emerged as the most literate state in the country, followed by Delhi at 88.7%, Uttarakhand at 87.6%, Himachal Pradesh at 86.6% and Assam’s at 85.9 per cent.
