Suresh Prabhu is the new Minister of Civil Aviation

Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu has been given the additional charge as the Minister of Civil Aviation.This has happened after Ashok GajapathiRaju has resigned from the Ministry. He has assumed charge at a time when the government is in the process of finalising the modalities for strategic disinvestment of national carrier Air India.


Xi Jinping becomes China's  Lifetime President

China’s Parliament has abolished the two-term limit for the President thus allowing Xi Jinping to remain as the country’s Premier for life. The constitutional changes were passed in Beijing by the annual sitting of the National People’s Congress – the country’s legislature – with the two-thirds majority. Of the 2,964 delegates, only two voted against the change, while three abstained.


Australia  won the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2018

Australia has won the 27th edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia by defeating defending champion England by 2-1.Australia has won the tournament for the record 10th time.

India’s first coastal policing academy to come up in Gujarat

The country’s first national academy to train police forces will start functioning from the next month along the Gujarat sea front.The Union home ministry recently sanctioned the launch of the National Academy of Coastal Policing in the newly created Devbhoomi Dwarka district. The BSF will also provide security to the campus which on the Arabian Sea coast and is at a flying distance from the Pakistan coast.


Passport details needed for loan of Rs 50cr and above 

Passport details of borrowers taking loans of Rs 50 crore and more have been made mandatory to ensure a swift action in case of fraud and prevent fraudsters from fleeing the country. Passport details will help banks to take timely action and inform the relevant authorities to prevent fraudsters from fleeing the country.Next step on clean and responsible banking. Passport details must for loans above Rs 50 crore. Step to ensure quick response in case of fraud, Financial Services Secretary Rajiv Kumar tweeted. This is a preventive step to avoid flight of economic offenders and banks to collect passport details of all new borrowers of loans in excess of Rs 50 crore.For all existing loans of over Rs 50 crore, banks have been asked to collect passport details of borrowers within 45 days.
